Favorite Product of the Month

I am not one to wear a lot of makeup. I like to have that natural simple look, but I must rave about my favorite mascara. It’s the “benefit They’re Real! Lengthening Mascara.” This product is an everyday essential and really makes my eyelashes look longer and fuller. I have received so many compliments from people saying my lashes look so much longer. In 2017, this mascara won the Glamour Beauty Award for Best Designer Mascara.

This product is a little more on the expensive side, compared to a drug store product, but I think it’s totally worth it! Plus, the product lasts me a month or two because I only need a little bit each day. You can buy this mascara from any makeup store such as Sephora and Ulta. They also have travel size products if you want to just try it first! Its price is about 25 dollars, but I just got a deal at Ulta of 2 for 32 dollars, so if you go soon maybe you can snag that deal!

Overnight Oats Obsessed

A friend recently told me about overnight oats and I thought I would give them a try because I love eating regular oatmeal, but it always takes too long to make on a busy morning. I’d always heard overnight oats was super easy to make, but I didn’t realize how EASY they are. The base is literally oats, milk, and some type of sweetener. Then you just have to leave the mixture in the refrigerator overnight and your oats are done! Talk about simplicity! Of course there are ways to spice up the base and create different flavors such as chocolate, matcha, cinnamon and so many more options.

Not only are these oats easy, but they are a great breakfast to have. They are very filling so will leave you starting your day satisfied and ready to go! Oats are among the healthiest grains and are a great source of fiber and antioxidants. They also help with weight loss and reduce the risk of heart disease.

Hot Yoga?

When I hear the words “hot yoga” I do not think of something I would want to participate in. I already get hot and sweaty when I workout so why would I want to participate in something that will make me more hot and more sweaty? Plus, I am not very flexible so I have always accepted the fact that yoga just isn’t my thing. But, this past Sunday long behold, I took my first hot yoga class. My friends and I went to a free class at Core Power Studio. The whole time before, I was so anxious because I didn’t know what to expect and when I walked into the room I was even more nervous because the room was PACKED. Mats were lined up one by one with maybe half a foot in between. The room was already hot, so maxing out the room capacity sure didn’t help.

Once the class started I was thinking “oh this is going to be long class.” The class contained a little bit or everything, yoga, weights and core. And as its title says, the class was definitely HOT. I was sweating sweating. I don’t think I have ever sweat that much in a class before. I looked at the temperature and it was at 90 degrees, plus a few more degrees from the heat radiating from the people around. If you ever do decide to go, don’t forget to bring a towel! Anyways, as miserable as I may make the class sound, I actually really enjoyed it after. I felt really challenged and relaxed after, which is one of the benefits of hot yoga. Other benefits include detoxifying the body, increases flexibility, and strengthening the body. Before Sunday, I would have totally not suggested hot yoga, but I think I am now a fan of it!
